Are you going on vacation with your children to Florida? If so, we recommend finding activities ahead of time so you can plan a foolproof itinerary that your toddlers and teenagers are going to love! The last thing you want on vacation is to have your kids be bored and restless – that is why we have put together a few must-do activities for families visiting AMI and Bradenton over the summer.

We recommend visiting one of these beautiful coastal areas over the summer if you are interested in the hot weather and partaking in watersports. If you would rather avoid crowds and spend more time shopping or going to restaurants, the shoulder seasons are great, too. There is no bad time to visit! Once you are here, put one or all of these Anna Maria Island children‘s activities on your family-friendly itinerary.

Explore Anna Maria Island Children’s Fun!

The first thing to do with your kids is to explore and walk around! You can ride the free trolley to the nearby attractions, beaches, and shops. You can hop on and hop off as you wish to see the nearby boutiques, vintage shops, Historic Green Village, Coquina Beach, Robbins Preserve, and Pine Avenue. Head to Pine Avenue and hop off to get some ice cream and souvenirs to bring back home!

Go to the Beach

Your kids are going to love going to the beach, building sandcastles, learning how to swim, boogie boarding in the shallow water, and soaking in the sun! We love going to Florida to enjoy the safe, sunny, and beautiful coastal beaches and parks that are great for an afternoon out of the house. We recommend going to Bean Point and Coquina Beach for crystal-clear waters, picnic areas, and amenities.

Have an Educational Weekend

The next thing that is a must-do for a wholesome family vacation is to visit the Anna Maria Historical Museum to learn more about the history of the island, the Shiny Fish Emporium to check out works from local artists, and the Mote Marine Aquarium to learn about the flora and fauna in the area.

Take a Tour Outside!

Lastly, take a dolphin tour or kayak tour to see the island in a different light! We recommend taking one of the Island Pearl Excursions to see the birds, coral reefs, manatees, and dolphins.
