Anglers will want to spend some time this June with their favorite past time. The tournament benefits the Fire Charity Fishing Foundation, a non-profit that raises funds for local charitable causes benefiting firefighters and victims of fires.
The three-day tournament includes a kids’ tournament, live music, fishing, and more. Register your boat and crew online at the Fire Charity Fishing website and prepare to turn “fishing” into “finding” June 7-9, 2024.
The events start at Rossi Waterfront Park in Bradenton.
Bradenton Summer Market
The market takes place monthly throughout the summer. Browse local arts and crafts, homemade goodies and treasures, and even score some locally grown fresh produce. Plan your visit around the dates, or make sure to incorporate them in your itinerary if they’re happening during your trip. The market is the second Saturday of the month, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Old Main Street. This June’s date is June 8.
Summer Circus Spectacular
Circus fans will no doubt be making at least one performance part of their summer itinerary. The Circus Arts Conservatory and The Ringling have once again come together to present performances from some of the finest circus artists in the world. Performances take place daily, June 14 – August 17. Adult admission is $20 and children are $15 and can be purchased on the event page on the Ringling website.
Sarasota Music Festival
The festival is in its 60th year of bringing the residents and visitors of Sarasota stunning performances of jazz, bluegrass, and more. The festival kicks off with a special 60th anniversary concert, then settles into a regular schedule of artist showcases, rising stars, tribute concerts, and other special events.
The kickoff concert is Sunday, June 2 at 4 p.m. in Holley Hall. Other June dates include June 6-9, 13-16, and 19-22.
Bradenton Marauders Paws & Claws
While some baseball fans vacationing in Florida will want to check out a Miami Marlins or Tampa Bay Rays game, enjoy a minor league game right in Bradenton, and bring your pup! The team will be hosting a number of “Paws & Claws” events throughout the summer, including in June, where you can bring your well-behaved, leashed pet to enjoy the game with you. Check out the schedule on the team website and click under “Game Highlights” to see what games you and your pup can attend.
Currently the only event in June is scheduled for the game on June 7 against the Clearwater Threshers.
Suncoast Summer Fest
The event kicks off the summer season and includes a series of special event fundraisers to raise money for local children, teens, and adults with special needs and their families. The events take place at various locations around Sarasota, and include the Bob Rizi Memorial Golf Classic on June 21, the “Friendliest Catch” Fishing Tournament on June 26, the “Waves and Wheels” party and fun run on June 28, and an explosive end with Bayfront fireworks for the 4th of July.
Waves and Wheels
It’s more than just part of the Suncoast Summer Fest. It’s an event in itself. Join the “Disco & Dice” Party on June 28 for casino-style gaming, drinks, little bites, raffles, and disco hits to groove the night away to! There are even awards for best disco outfit. The party is at the Sarasota Event Center.
If you’re not too tired, show up on June 29 for a “Fun Run” – drive your boat, car, or motorcycle along a path that starts at Marina Jack and ends at Tarpon Bay, where you’ll get a meal voucher and roll the dice one last time for extra points.
